Book Review:
Hallie Flynn’s most favorite place is her Aunt Clara’s beautiful house on Firefly beach. She has so many childhood memories attached to this place and visiting this place seems like coming back home.
Since Aunt Clara passed away 6 months back and has left a letter for her. This letter includes a bucket list that Hallie wrote when she was 12 years old and her aunt wants her to finish it. If she can finish it, she will get another letter from her Aunt which she has left for her.
Hallie takes a road trip with her family and best friend Ben Murray to her Aunt’s home and this trip changes her life forever in the best way possible.
This book is an amazing beach read featuring best friends to lovers trope, with some family drama, some emotional moments, great friendships, and wonderful characters. It made me laugh, cry a little mostly happy tears, there was a smile on my face while reading it. This book is a great read for times like these (quarantine summer) and we can definitely take a virtual trip to FireFly beach. The book cover is more than gorgeous.
Aunt Clara was an incredible woman and a complete genius and her teachings were incredible. Trust me when I say we all need an Aunt Clara in our lives.
Some of the lines I loved from this book:
1. Life is what you make it
2. It's isn't about the money. It's about doing what you love, what you were put on this earth to do. If you get it right, the money will find you. Watch and see.
Thank you so Grand Central Publishing and Read-forever for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis:
Hallie Flynn's favorite place in the world is her aunt Clara's beautiful beachside house, with its inviting wraparound porch and enchanting views across the sparkling turquoise ocean. For Hallie, going to Firefly Beach, filled with magical childhood memories, feels like coming home. But in one moment, Hallie's left brokenhearted when her adored aunt Clara passes away.
In her last letter, Aunt Clara included the bucket list Hallie wrote when she was twelve years old -- and a final wish for Hallie to complete it. Stepping away from her dead-end job and predictable schedule, Hallie embraces Aunt Clara's words.
Spending the summer at Firefly Beach, Hallie begins to remember the things that matter most to her. Best of all, her childhood friend Ben Murray is there, supporting her every step of the way. But a run-in with wealthy Gavin Wilson, a newcomer to Firefly Beach, leaves her questioning her future and facing something buried deep in her heart.
Will Hallie complete the bucket list and change her life? Or will the secret she's been keeping destroy her new beginning -- and the chance to fall in love?
